Transforming Pain into Purpose Through Mind*Body*Spirit Integration

My Story

We can’t change the stories of our past, but we can shift our relationship to them. Through this process, we create space to heal the past, embrace the present, and explore new possibilities.

Grief and unexpected transitions in my own life led me to ask questions many of us face: Why is this happening? What does it mean?
Those questions became a doorway into deeper inquiry: how we continue living when life doesn’t go as planned, and how we reconnect with ourselves and our intuition in the midst of stress and uncertainty.

These experiences revealed how grief and life’s challenges can disconnect us from others and ourselves, at first. They also opened me to exploring the unseen, the mystery, and deeper soul connections  aspects that became central to my work.

Here’s a personal story about my journey through grief and healing and what led me to this work.

My Perspective of the Healing Journey

Healing isn't a linear path with a timeline, it's more like climbing a mountain with peaks and valleys.

Along the way, we pause, take in the beauty, exhale, and feel moments of arrival. We feel like "we made it!". We face storms, slip, and face unexpected challenges. Each time we rise again, we carry new tools, walk with new companions, and find alternate routes forward.

Through these experiences, I realized that each moment, even the hard ones, offers perspective.

Through this journey, I’ve learned to stand in wisdom more than the pain, noticing the guidance, insights, and growth that arise even in hard moments. Healing becomes a process of reconnecting with our inner guidance.

My Journey Through Integrated Healing

Through my own healing journey, I discovered powerful pathways that helped me feel grounded, clear, and reconnected. I became open to embodied, somatic, and intuitive practices: approaches that support nervous system regulation, body wisdom, and a deeper sense of inner guidance.

These modalities created profound shifts in my own life and inspired a desire to learn, and give back. I transitioned from school social work to study the approaches that supported my healing. Tree of Life Center was founded in 2014, and the work continues to evolve.

My work is informed by:

  • EMDR therapy for processing and integrating experiences

  • Trauma-informed yoga to support body awareness and nervous system regulation

  • Reiki and breathwork for restoration, balance, and deeper peace
